It's great that people occasionally help the police, but sometimes they need to check their facts before coming in...
A person came into the police department to tell us that she had weed growing her backyard and picked some to show us.
First off, if you have this same problem, do not pick some and get in your car with it. I can only wonder what the cop would say if they pulled you over and saw some weed laying ever so casually in the passenger seat. I'd bet they wouldn't believe you when you said you were only trying to take it to your local police department though.. So take a picture or try and have the cops come to you instead.
Anyway, an Ofc goes to meet the concerned citizen only to discover that it's not weed, but rather weeds. Of the most ordinary type. It looked more like poison ivy then pot. For her sake, I hope it wasn't poison ivy but if it was, maybe next time she'll just mow it under or Google search an image of a marijuana plant before touching it next time.
Townsville has the best people. :)

ReplyDeleteI once knew a lady who found "A plant" in her grandson's room and stuck it in her garden. It grew into this HUGE plant and she had no idea what it was other than "It looked pretty". Yup it was this huge marijuana plant this lady grew in her back yard totally clueless as to what it was. I can't remember how but eventually the cops went and cut it down it was one of the largest plants they had seen. Although it had flowered and that aparently ruins the TSH.

Thats funny. I had to process everything from a rusty of gun found behind a hot water heater in a 50 yr old house, to logging in underware not known to the house hold and no explination (babysitter, family, etc.) to where it came from. I'm documented "scratched" or imperfections in the windows of an entire neighborhood after one fruity neighbor called us 100's of times saying people were damaging her property.
ReplyDeleteNothing amazes me anymore.
WOW!!
ReplyDeletehahahaha! i had a woman call and insist that her neighbors were growing drugs in her driveway. she advised that she saw a strange plant growing in her driveway, so she picked it, took it in the house, and made tea out of it. "and slept ALL DAY! it's got to be drugs!" it was at shift change and i had the captain refuse to respond....never did find out what happened....
